An MCU revealed featured in Ms. Marvel episode 4 confirms the true nature of a mystery from the trailer for Marvel’s She-Hulk, coming August 2022.

Warning! This post contains spoilers for Ms. Marvel episode 4.

Ms. Marvel episode 4 has just revealed the true nature of a mystery from the trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk mark the next stage for MCU TV shows on Disney+, with the former beginning in June 2022 and the latter planned for release in August 2022. Ms. Marvel episode 4, a certain shot is shown which confirms some speculation from the She-Hulk trailer released by Marvel Studios.

Up to this point, Ms. Marvel It has been well-versed in the world of the MCU, featuring endless Easter eggs and hints to the wider universe. These have included references to the Ten Rings organization, as well as nods to the Avengers movies. However, in terms of its plot at least, Ms. Marvel has been fairly self-contained. Therefore, the reference to the next Disney+ show in She-Hulk comes as a bit of a surprise.

Ms. Marvel episode 4 featured what seems to be the shows main villains, the Clandestines, escaping out of confinement from the Department of Damage Control. However, it is in the building in which they are confined that the connection to She-Hulk is found. The building is shown initially as a wide, establishing shot. In the shot, a subheading reveals the title of the building as “DODC Supermax PrisonThe building is the same one shown in the trailer for She-Hulk, seemingly linking to Jennifer Walters’s new job as the head of a superhuman law division. From the confirmation of the nature of this mystery building in Ms. Marvel, it is clear that the Department of Damage Control has a facility similar to that of The Raft, a prison for superhuman criminals. This is all but confirmed by the appearance of a human Abomination in She-Hulksomething set up in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which also seemingly has connections to Ms. Marvel.

She Hulk abomination villain

It is unclear whether the Supermax Prison will feature further in Ms. Marvel, given the Clandestine’s easy escape from the facility. However, the brief appearance in the show before its further focus in She-Hulk only goes to prove that the heads of Marvel Studios have not lost their touch in terms of the small details and connections linking their now sprawling universe. Considering there has been some criticism against Phase 4 of the MCU for a lack of clear direction, the connections between Ms. MarvelShang-Chi (and the Ten Rings themself), She-Hulk and The Marvels only go to debunk these criticisms with the links between Phase 4 properties.

This reveal in Ms. Marvel episode 4 leads to the question of just how strongly She-Hulk will tie to this series. If Kamala and her allies defeat the Clandestines in Ms. Marvel, it could be the case that they are once again imprisoned in the DODC Supermax Prison with even tighter security after their escape. If this is the case, the Clandestines could have a brief cameo appearance in She-Hulk, or even a larger role if part of the show involves Jennifer representing superhuman criminals like Emil Blonsky. Either way, the subtle link between Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is cool and proves Marvel still has a clear path and idea of where they want their projects to overlap in Phase 4 and beyond.
