Darth Vader Faces Off Against a Queen Xenomorph in Alien Crossover Art

A new piece of crossover fan art promises a spectacular showdown between Star Wars’ Darth Vader and a Queen Xenomorph from the Alien franchise.

A new piece of crossover fan art imagines Star Wars Darth Vader coming face-to-face with a Queen Xenomorph from the Alien franchises Undoubtedly one of the most recognizable cinematic villains of all time, Darth Vader made his cinematic debut in 1977’s original Star Wars film voiced by James Earl Jones. Once a Jedi Knight known as Anakin Skywalkerhis tragic fall to the Dark Side of the Force and transformation into a terrifying Sith Lord has been a central focus for much of Star Wars’ ongoing lore. Most recently, Vader would return to screen in the live-action Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, set between the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.

Meanwhile, the Xenomorphs or Aliens are a hostile breed of extra-terrestrial lifeforms which appear in the Alien movies. The frightening creatures are known for their predatory behavior and violent means of propagating their species. Parasitic creatures, which are known as Facehuggers, implant a larval form of the Xenomorph inside a host body, which in turn bursts out of the host’s chest. Designed by renowned artist HR Giger, the Xenomorphs first made their debut in Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie Alien. However, it was not until the sequel Aliens, directed by James Cameron, that audiences were introduced to a Queen Xenomorph, a colony’s single fertile female responsible for laying the eggs from which the Facehuggers originate. Presently, a new Alien TV series is currently being planned, led by Fargo’s Noah Hawley.

While the Xenomorph’s are certainly formidable creatures, most Star Wars fans would likely agree that Vader would dispatch the Alien Queen and her brood in short order. The Xenomorph’s unbridled aggression and acidic blood would be no match for Vader’s lightsaber and strength in the Dark Side of the Force. However, the ensuing battle would most surely be a spectacular one and, given a large enough Alien infestation, Vader would most likely have his hands full if this art were to come to fruition.

As entertaining as the prospect of such a meeting is, however, it seems highly unlikely that such a crossover will ever be realised on screen. While Disney now owns both the Star Wars and Alien franchises, thanks to their respective mergers with both Lucasfilm and Fox, it is likely the studio will want to keep the two sci-fi properties separate from one another. Thankfully though, fans of both still have plenty of new content to look forward to, not only with the continued expansion of the Star Wars universe on Disney+ but also with the planned Alien TV series destined to hit Hulu. Meanwhile, fans can continue to have the flames of their imagination stoked by fan art such as this.
