International Self-Care Day is July 24 | 10 books to change your life

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sunday, July 24, 2022, is the 11th annual International Self-Care Day. “Self-care” was once a bad word, even if it is two words. Not anymore. Today, it’s widely recognized that self-care is essential to the world’s wellbeing.

Self-Care Day is a perfect time to think about what contributions to your well-being and to plan to care for your physical and emotional health. When you are healthy, you’re a better participant with family and friends, with work and the world. When you know that you matter and you take care of yourself, you’re a better part of everything else.

Self-care can be hard, so we’ve rounded up books to help. Because journaling has been proven to lower the heart rate and decrease mental and physical stress, many of these books use journaling to go deeper. They include guided and prompted journals. Review these options to determine how to be your best.
