Wisconsin author Margot Peters dies at 89 as book goes on sale

Wausau native Margot Peters, 89, was best known for her biographies, but she's written three mystery novels. She recently completed her last book,

Wisconsin author Margot Peters had a sense of urgency while she was writing her last book.

She started it a few years ago, writing it after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She kept writing through the loss of her husband, Peter Jordan, who died on Aug. 27. His passing hit Peters hard. The writing both distracted and focused her, and she wanted to make sure she completed it. That was Peters’ way, really with all her books. Once she started, she would drive hard to get them done.

“I always finish what I start, or at least I try to,” she told the Wisconsin State Journal in December 2020.

The book is a self-published who-dun-it called “Murder Among Friends.” It’s been written for months now, but technical challenges delayed its publication and getting it to the point where readers could buy it. Those issues recently were resolved, and “Murder Among Friends” can now be purchased on Amazon.
